Imperial Final Viva Course looking for new committee

Interested in education?

The Imperial Final Viva Course organisers are looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in medical education to join the committee and ensure the course continues into the future.

The course is run free of charge on Saturday mornings at Charing Cross Hospital biannually for 4-6 weeks in the lead up to the Final FRCA SOE for candidates from the Imperial School of Anaesthesia. iFVC is currently coordinated by ISA consultants and ST5-7 Registrars, but it was always intended to be a trainee led initiative, and the time has now come to hand over the reigns. It is anticipated that the selected people will take over from the current committee members after a suitable transition period.

The role would involve coordinating the course, developing long and short cases, attending committee meetings and further roles depending on your interests and skills. It will suit anyone interested in medical education. You will gain experience in medical course organisation and management, teaching, feedback as well as opportunities to revise all that knowledge. Additionally, you will receive formalised feedback on your teaching for your eportfolio and a certificate demonstrating your involvement.

To be eligible you must have passed the FRCA and ideally taught on the iFVC or Primary viva course.

If you wish to nominate yourself for the post or if you want further information about what the role entails please e-mail
