Commencing Aug 2019. Work towards an educational qualification, develop your teaching skills including high fidelity simulation and beef up your CV
Hi Everyone,
Myself and a Jen (Anaesthetic/ICM trainees currently at King’s) are hoping to set up a teaching programme aimed at Primary FRCA revision. We plan to target those topics which people tend to find most difficult; be it the physics behind MRI, infusion kinetics, or ABG analyser electrodes to name but a few.
We have designed a survey to help find out which topics are found difficult by trainees.
It'll take 2-3 mins to complete the survey. We will close it at the end of Feb.
Thank

Being a very busy DGH, there is wealth of clinical experience to be gained during the trainee's placement at West Herts. The units of training offered for Intermediate trainees are all the General duties (except Airway and Head & Neck), Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Pain Medicine and Vascular Surgery. The units of training offered for Higher trainees are all the General duties (except Airway and Head & Neck) and Pain medicine. The college tutor will allocate the units of training according to the trainee's requirements.
There is protected half day teaching every week. The topics covered are based on the RCOA curriculum for Primary and Final FRCA exam. There are monthly Morbidity and Mortality and Clinical Governance meetings and the trainees are encouraged to present in these meetings. There is ample opportunity for getting involved in Quality Improvement Projects, Clinical Audits and Research. Dr Beena Parker is the Audit Lead and Dr Valerie Page is the Research Lead.
